Volunteer with UCTB!

With over a thousand cats per month being brought into the shelter, we need all the help we can get! It takes an incredible amount of time to interact with all the adoptable cats that enter the shelter, take their pictures and video, post them online and then check and post statuses on a nightlyl basis, not to mention reading and responding to comments, emails and private messages - whew! 

Luckily, we have a wonderful and dedicated group of volunteers who make it all happen. We would love to add to our growing UCTB family, so please contact us if you're interested in becoming a volunteer. Below is a brief description of the areas we need help:

  • Photographer - go to the shelter once or twice a week for an hour or two and interact with the cats to determine friendliness, then take pictures and/or videos and upload them to our Facebook page along with comments about the cats' personalities. A good picture and description can be the difference between life and death for these sweeties.
  • Page Moderator - read through and respond to comments, emails and private messages sent by fans throughout the day. We all work full time jobs, so it is challenging to respond in a timely manner, especially when we know the kitties get so little time to begin with. A delay of an hour or two in responding could be the difference between life and death, so the more people we have moderating the page, the better the chances that nothing will be missed.
